We are delighted to announce that the Forte Charitable Foundation has awarded The School & Family Works £90,000 over three years to support our Families Helping Families programme.

The Forte Charitable Foundation supports work that strengthens communities in which families experience poverty, exclusion, racism or unequal access to support. The grant will help us deliver Family Group in primary schools serving communities in the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea.

Family Group is based on a simple but powerful understanding: children thrive when home and school are connected and the adults around them work together.

Our Family Group model builds on the strengths within families and brings parents, children and school staff together in regular therapeutic groups within schools.

Families are not simply recipients of support. They share experiences, learn from one another and become part of a community in which families help families.

Over time, the groups reduce isolation, build trust and strengthen relationships between children, families and schools. This helps children feel better understood and supported, both at home and in the classroom.

Mark Griffiths, CEO of The School & Family Works, said:

“You probably have to be on the receiving end of a grant award letter like this to fully understand the relief, gratitude and resolve it generates.

This generous three-year commitment gives us greater stability and allows us to continue developing trusted communities around children and families in West London. We are determined to make the very best use of Forte’s support and deliver work that makes a meaningful difference.”

We are deeply grateful to the trustees of the Forte Charitable Foundation for their confidence in our work. We look forward to developing our partnership over the next three years for the benefit of children, families and primary school communities across West London.
