The School & Family Works was formed in 2009 as a social enterprise and became a charity in 2023.

We support children facing adversity to thrive in school by building strong, collaborative communities between schools and families. Through our multi-family therapy model, families are empowered to help one another, drawing on their own skills and resources with expert facilitation to overcome challenges and create lasting change.

Our work focuses on improving wellbeing, strengthening relationships, and enabling long-term change.

For too many families, school is the only place they’re connected to and even then, that connection is often fragile. Through Family Group, we’ve seen just how much changes when families are given space to be heard, supported, and empowered.

Through a unique,therapeutic model called Family Group, we help families to:    

• Reconnect with each other and their school community
• Heal from trauma and shame
• Build confidence to ask for help and access wider support
• Develop the tools to nurture their children’s wellbeing and learning
