Before joining The School and Family Works team, Joanna spent six years as a trainer, consultant and senior manager for school development at the mental health charity YoungMinds, where she specialised in helping schools to build resilience in children, families and systems.

Prior to that she worked for 12 years as a PSHE lead in Lambeth, managing a small team of advisers, who supported schools to deliver Sex and Relationships Education, Drug and Alcohol Education and Mental Health and Wellbeing lessons and training.

Joanna trained as a teacher 25 years ago and worked in primary and special schools. She holds an MA in Educational Psychology. She is also a co-Chair of Governors at a local primary school.
