I have worked with and supported children and families in various roles. The most formative position was working as a teaching assistant in SEN schools. I became passionate about issues of access and well-being for neurodivergent pupils, and completed a Master’s degree in autism to become a better advocate and agent of change.
During the course of this time, I have come to appreciate that helping the child in isolation is often not enough. I therefore decided to study systemic family therapy to work both with the young person and the family unit as a whole.
I believe a systemic approach supports mutual understanding and creates a strong base for more effective ways of interacting and evolving relationships.
Alongside my work as a systemic practitioner at The School and Family Works, I am also a trainer supporting professionals and families on issues of access, and emotional and psychological well-being for neurodivergent individuals.
